Employee Highlight: Sai Hima

SpringML: What is your current position at SpringML?

Hima – I work as a Data engineer at the Hyderabad Office. I’m responsible for providing and developing solutions to customer problems with quality and reliability. During the past one and a half years, there has been a massive transition in my position. I have got a chance to work on a considerable number of projects within a short span, including working on essential pieces like authentication.

SpringML: What’s the first thing you do when you come into work and last to wrap up the workday?

Hima – I start my day at work by greeting my colleagues. Then, I grab a cup of coffee, check my updates, and plan for the workday in 10 min. I closely monitor my work on Asana. At times when I handle the project solely, I set daily tasks in Asana tracker or Confluence and then wrap the day by finishing it up.

SpringML: Before joining SpringML, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?

Hima – With SpringML being first experience as a full time job, I have done a couple of internships that were engaging. During my third semester of engineering I have been a part of WEF (Women Entrepreneurship Forum) where I got to learn different marketing technologies. Given the fact that I just entered tech world, A deep dive into understanding how real world businesses work was really fascinating to me.  Later in my third summer break, I worked as a front end developer where I got a chance to mentor for ‘tech-preneurship’ hackathon that gave me a taste of being a team lead.

SpringML: If you could choose anyone, who would you pick as your mentor?

Hima – I don’t particularly follow a person or a book. I get inspired by a lot of individuals for their work. Throughout my life, one constant mentor is my dad. He inspires me so much with his sincerity and dedication towards his work. Not a tip shared, but If I could take quality from a person, I would take it from Amit Deshpande (Vice President at Hyd Office). The kind of passion and enthusiasm he has for technology astonishes me. I feel so fortunate to have him as a mentor in the early stages of my career.

SpringML: What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

Hima – My Dad says- “Take risks, be adventurous. Try whatever you want to try I will be there for you if you fall”. This isn’t a piece of advice, but this brings immense confidence in me to try new things and learn new skills. I firmly believe that constant encouragement will let the person achieve the best in what they do.

What are 3 words to describe SpringML?

Hima – Passion- filled, Fast-paced, Positivity

SpringML: Best vacation you’ve been to?

Hima – I love to travel and explore new places. One of the recent and most crazy vacation with my colleagues was a trip to Araku. The trip was mostly unplanned and became an adventurous one!! I had so much fun trying different things( especially food ). Oh god!! Nature’s beauty is so damn astonishing, and the city with beaches ( Vizag ) is so bracing. I think God created this place with utmost care.

What’s the most recent app you’ve downloaded but are yet to use?

Hima – In this era where people are looking for ways to save money and smartly invest them, I wanted to see what the stock market is all about and learn the basics of investing. But I hardly had a day where I could spend some time to invest some money 😛

Well, out of curiosity to know why the whole world was going crazy about TikTok, I installed the app but never managed to open it.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

Hima – I love spending time with my family. I am a hyperactive person with lots of hobbies. I like to give physical work to my body when I am not working. I play Foosball. I like traveling. Dancing and singing are two main things that refresh me.
